The Core Team of ENEMO’s Election Observation Mission to Moldova met with the President of the Republic of Moldova, Ms. Maia Sandu

The Core Team of ENEMO’s Election Observation Mission to Moldova for the Local Elections of 5 November 2023, Mr. Dritan Taulla, Head of Mission, Ms. Nino Rizhamadze, Election and Legal Analyst, Ms. Maja Milikic, Media Analyst, and Mr. Ales Jakubec, Political Analyst, met today with the President of the Republic of Moldova, Ms. Maia Sandu.

Mr. Taulla presented the Mission and its plans, and reiterated ENEMO’s continuous commitment towards improving integrity of elections and strengthening democracy and rule of law in the region.

The Core Team of ENEMO further discussed with Her Excellency, President Sandu, on the importance of the integrity of the upcoming election; challenges that the Republic of Moldova faces towards fighting foreign influence in the electoral process; curbing corruption, especially electoral corruption; and strengthening democracy and the rule of law, with special emphasis on the ongoing electoral process.
