On 7 November, 2020, Mr. Pierre Peytier, Deputy Head of the ENEMO Mission to Ukraine 2020 for the Local Elections conducted a virtual meeting with Mr. Dmytro Lubinets, Member of Ukrainian Parliament, Chairman of the Committee on Human Rights, Deoccupation and Reintegration of the Temporarily Occupied Territories in Donetsk, Luhansk Oblasts and the Autonomous Republic of Crimea, the City of Sevastopol, National Minorities and International Relations.
 

Since Mr. Lubinets was diagnosed with COVID-19 recently, the meeting was held in the format of a ZOOM conference. Participants discussed concerns regarding the disenfranchised voters due to the ongoing conflict in Eastern Ukraine as well as the main criteria used for excluding specific territories and communities from the election process. Moreover, Mr. Lubinets shared his thoughts regarding the participation of “For the Future” (“Za Maibutne”) party in this year’s local elections, overall election trends in Ukraine as well as the impact of attempts to abuse administrative resources during election campaigns.
