On 6 September 2024, the European Network of Election Monitoring Organizations (ENEMO) deployed an International Election Observation Mission (EOM) to Georgia to observe the 26 October 2024 Parliamentary Elections.
ENEMO has accredited and deployed 7 Core Team experts, based in Tbilisi. The Mission is headed by Dr. Zlatko Vujovic. Additionally, 8 long-term observers (LTOs) will be deployed, in 4 multi-national teams. The EOM will be reinforced by 80 short-term observers (STOs), who will observe election day proceedings, starting from the opening procedures to the counting and tabulation of results on Election Day.
This is ENEMO’s third election observation mission to Georgia. The aim of the EOM is to improve the transparency of the electoral process, assess its integrity and respect for international standards for democratic elections and the national legislation, as well as provide - and advocate for - recommendations for potential areas of improvement.
The mission will observe and assess the overall political and electoral environment, conduct of election management bodies, candidate and voter registration, campaigning, gender equity, voting and tabulation processes, electoral dispute resolution, and other crucial aspects of the electoral process for the 26 October elections.
