Gianluca Passarelli

I’m an Associate Professor in Political Science at the Department of Political Sciences, Sapienza University, Roma. Ph.D. in Comparative and European Politics from the University of Siena, and I have been post doc fellow at the Department of Political Science, University of Bologna. I’m also researcher of the Istituto Carlo Cattaneo and member of Italian National Election Studies. My main research interests concern: presidents of the Republic, political parties, electoral systems, elections and electoral behaviour.

I’m an author of: The Preferential Voting Systems (Palgrave 2020); Eleggere il Presidente. Gli Stati Uniti da Roosevelt a oggi (2020, Marsilio, con F. Clementi); La Lega di Salvini. Estrema destra di governo (2018, Il Mulino, con D. Tuorto); The Presidentialization of Political Parties (2015).

I’m a member of the Executive Committee of the ECPR.

In 2017 I obtained the national qualification for Full Professor.
